In this fast-moving world of stress and tension, yoga has come out as a blessing in disguise.

Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being and a wider dissemination of information about the benefits of practicing yoga would be beneficial to the health of the world population.

'€œYoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.'€

Even the United Nations General Assembly has adopted an India-led resolution declaring June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.

The Indian Embassy in Jakarta is also going to recognize the day and celebrate the occasion with great pride.

People of all age groups have shared their reflections on the benefits they have enjoyed from their yoga classes after joining in at Grahasindhu in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta.

The classes for yoga are being conducted at Graha Sindhu three days a week without any charge. The participants vary in age from children to adults. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

The benefits of yoga include the curing of ailments such as back problems, knee problems and heart problems and
remedying many other issues including stress, tension, anxiety, insomnia, etc.

The therapy center has resolved various problems for participants from diverse backgrounds including Chinese, Indian and Indonesian.

Their appreciation speaks of the great outcomes they experience. Many of them came to yoga with low spirits but felt the benefits of their practice in a short space of time and now praise the quality of the classes and the healing touch that they provide.
