he Communications and Information Ministry is currently discussing the integration of emergency call services to telephone number 112 with the Bandung city government.
"The government is set to launch the emergency call 112 nationally," said the head of Bandung city's Communications and Information Agency, Aos W. Bintang, on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.
According to Aos, Bandung had been chosen as one of the trial cities for the new service number.
"The trial of emergency call 112 will be held in Bandung and 10 other cities in Indonesia," said Aos.
Following the availability of the new service number, other existing emergency calls in Bandung, such as 113 for the fire station and 110 for the police station, will be integrated into 112.
"The new emergency call number is set to operate starting December," added Aos. (kes)(++++)
