inger/songwriter Tulus is on his way to popularizing his music worldwide, citing the Japanese music industry as his first venture.

Tulus, 28, has created a new arrangement for his popular song '€œSepatu'€ (Shoes) and translated the lyrics into Japanese, giving the song the new title '€œKutsu'€.

'€œI call this an expansion; the beginnings of introducing my music to many countries, beginning with neighboring countries. The reason I chose Japan to start is because of their unusual music taste. If I can make it in Japan, I will take my chances in other countries as well,'€ he said as quoted by kapanlagi.com on Thursday.

Tulus was recently invited to Japan for a cultural fair where he performed '€œKutsu'€ and his other songs.

'€œI couldn'€™t tell how well they accepted my songs, most are still in Indonesian. If the listeners'€™ show enthusiasm I will release more songs in Japanese'€.

He said technology has helped musicians to introduce their work beyond the confines of the local market. '€œBy releasing songs through iTunes, for example, more people can listen to, or purchase, an album [...].'€
