Economy in brief: Vending Machine opens new branches

AKARTA: Vending machine supplier Vending Machine Indonesia plans to open new branches in more of the country'€™s cities and regions, namely Bali, Medan and Surabaya, next year to meet growing demand from beverage producers, schools and hospitals.

The company, which was established in 2009, opened a new branch in the capital of West Java, Bandung, in the beginning of this year and plans to open another one in Bali in the middle of 2016, Vending Machine president director Herry Halim said in Jakarta over the weekend. '€œOur main business is producing conventional vending machines and then placing them in several buildings such as schools, factories and hospitals in Jakarta and Bandung,'€ he said.

Vending Machine Indonesia has become a vending machine supplier for companies '€” mostly beverage producers '€” in order for the companies to distribute their products. Some of the companies are Nestle, Mayora, Pocari Sweat, Indofood and Danone AQUA. The company also supplies minimarket vending machines to offices in which minimarkets do not exist. The minimarket vending machines manufactured by the company can be found in offices like those of electronics giant Samsung Indonesia, internet giant Yahoo! Indonesia, TV station Net TV and others.'€” JP/vny
