angerang city administration is currently holding a job fair, offering 4,036 vacancies, in the Tangerang City shopping mall.

Tangerang Employment Agency head Abdul Surahman said the fair, which is being held from May 24 to 26, offered vacancies in 42 companies engaged in various fields — from the garment industry to banking. The vacancies, he said, were for positions both within Indonesia and overseas.

“The job fair should help fresh graduates seeking employment,” said Abdul on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com, adding that there was less interest in overseas vacancies than vacancies inside the country.

He said the job fair had garnered so much interest he had encouraged his agency to open a website, disnaker.tangerangkota.go.id, to allow job-seekers to search for the numerous vacancies online.

At the same occasion, the agency’s placement and work extension division head Mahdiar said that up to 70 percent of the vacancies at the job fair were expected to be filled.

“Not only do we hold the event, we usually also follow up by asking for data on how many vacancies are filled. The data will later be used for evaluation,” he added.
