AKARTA: Indonesian musicians paid tribute to the recently deceased singer Mike Mohede in an event titled Last Melody For Mike.

The event took place on Monday evening after the sermon for Mike at his funeral in Bintaro, South Tangerang. Singer Lea Simanjuntak performed first with a song entitled “Tangan Tuhan Yang Pegang” (God’s Hand That Holds).

“This song is so deep. I don’t know why, but I really want to sing this song. We have ups and downs in life, but we should never be afraid. Mike did just that. God will always be there,” Lea said as quoted by kompas.com.

Singer Maruli Tampubolon and rapper Igor Saykoji also performed at the event, which was hosted by one of Mike’s best friends, singer Glenn Fredly. — JP
