he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has decided not to extend the travel ban imposed on property businessman Sugianto “Aguan” Kusuma, which expired on Saturday.
The KPK had imposed the travel ban as Aguan was linked to a graft case connected to a North Jakarta Bay land reclamation project. However, because the Agung Sedayu Group chairman was just a witness in the case, there was no need to extend the travel ban, KPK spokesperson Yuyuk Andriati was quoted as saying by tribunnews.com on Friday.
KPK prosecutors indicted publicly listed property developer PT Agung Podomoro Land (APL) president director Ariesman Widjaya and his personal assistant Trinanda Prihantoro, accusing them of bribing Sanusi to change a number of articles in bylaws for the benefit of developers, including APL and Agung Sedayu Group, which belongs to Aguan.
During the trial of Ariesman, KPK prosecutors said several times that Aguan had organized a series of meetings with city lawmakers and developers to influence the deliberation on zoning bylaws in the reclamation area.
