Agus-Sylviana’s campaign team to show solidity: Expert

he campaign of the Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni gubernatorial hopeful pair has been designed to show solidity among their four supporting political parties with members of each party given significant roles in the team, a political analyst has said.
The team was chaired by chairman of Democratic Party’s Jakarta chapter Nachrowi Ramli, who is being assisted by three deputies: United Development Party (PPP) Jakarta chapter chairman Abdul Aziz, National Awakening Party (PKB) Jakarta chapter chairman Hasbillah Ilyas and the National Mandate Party (PAN) Jakarta chapter Eko Purnomo.
“The [makeup of the] team aims to show unity among the supporting political parties,” said Burhanuddin Muhtadi of the Indonesian Islamic University (UIN) as reported by kompas.com on Thursday.
Although solidity within the campaign team is important, the main determining factor of the pair’s success will be the candidates themselves, said Burhanuddin. “So, the solidity of the team is not a guarantee that they will win the election, because the most important factor is the qualities of the candidates,” he added.
The secretary of the team is Vike Very Ponto assisted by four deputies: H Muallif, Ichwan Zayadi, Husen and Raja Mantan Purba, while the treasurer is Gatot M Suwondo assisted by four deputies Dedi Kurnyawan, Moh Fauzi, Ariyanto and Erick Herlambang.
Meanwhile, chairman of the media relations and spokespersons is Imelda Sari, helped by four deputies for media affairs Dudi Franandes, Priyo Pamungkas, Oman Rakinda and Husni Thamrin and three spokespersons: Rico Rustombi , Ikhsan Modjo and Rachland Nasidik. (bbn)
