View all search resultsndonesian and US Air Force pilots exchange experiences during an 11-day joint exercise named the 2016 Cope West that started on Tuesday in Manado, North Sulawesi.
“The pilots from both countries expect to share their tactics and air battle strategies,” Indonesian Air Force Training Director Col. Irwan Pramudya said in Manado on Friday.
The 2016 Cope West, the second exercise between the two forces, aims to test the air battle tactics between two different jet fighters F-16 and F-18,” Irwan said.
The exercise includes the “dog fight” or a close distance battle between two jets.
Meanwhile, during the exercise, Air Space spokesperson Air Commodore Jemi Trisonjaya said, Indonesian Air Force used 6 units of F-16 Fighting Falcon, while US Air Force used 6 F-18 Hornets. (bbn)
