Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil is the most popular candidate for the post of West Java governor, a survey has shown.
The survey conducted by the Indonesia Strategic Institute (Instrat) showed Ridwan (with 58.9 percent electability) was ahead of West Java vice governor Deddy Mizwar (53.8 percent) and Purwakarta regent Dedi Mulyadi (33.46 percent).
Instrat executive director Jalu Pradhono Priambodo said the survey was conducted on Nov. 24-28 last year with 1,600 respondents from 253 cities, regencies and districts being administered a questionnaire during a direct interview. The margin of error was 2.49 percentage points.
Jalu also said that undecided voters were at 33.2 percent. “There is still a chance [for all parties to win the election].”
Besides the three names, respondents also mentioned actresses and lawmakers Desy Ratnasari and Rieke Diah Pitaloka; lawmaker Dede Yusuf; Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono; Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo; West Java governor’s wife Netty Heryawan, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya and Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini as candidates.
