Guess what?: Sherina back on screen after 17 years

After disappearing from the limelight for 17 years, singer-actress Sherina Munaf is making a comeback on the silver screen.

The star, who rose to fame for her acting in the children’s movie Petualangan Sherina (Sherina’s Adventure), her one and only movie since 2000, has a leading role in upcoming action movie Wiro Sableng.

The 26-year-old said she joined the cast because she fell in love with the story.

“I am interested in exploring and bring the universe [of Wiro Sableng) to life,” she told kompas.com recently.

She added that she accepted the role because of the big names involved in its production.

Based on a martial art comic of the same title, Wiro Sableng will be directed by award-winning director Angga Dwimas Sasongko.

Joining Sherina in the cast are actor Vino G. Bastian and his wife, actress-model Marsha Timothy.
