Actress Cathy Sharon is applying the names of Indonesian cities — from Solo, Trusmi to Waru — to a lipstick line she has created.
“I love many colors, but picked eight and used the names of Indonesian cities for them,” she was quoted by kompas.com during the launch of her Urban Lips lipsticks in Jakarta.
She said the names were taken from cities across the country renowned for their batik. She produced Urban Lips in collaboration with business partners who have more than 20 years of experience in the cosmetics industry.
She said lipstick was chosen as the inaugural product line because many women loved it and it was one of the first things women reached for when putting on makeup.
“I don’t want a sticky lipstick that leaves a stain on my glass. I want one with color that lasts an entire day, a lipstick that doesn’t feel like I’m wearing it,” said Cathy, who relies on online and social media marketing for her products.
Even with her new business, the mother of two has no plans to leave the entertainment industry. “The entertainment industry has been my life and my breath. I won’t quit [it],” she said.
