View all search resultsore than 1,000 street children and orphans visited the Fantasy World (Dufan) amusement park at Ancol Dreamland Park in North Jakarta on Wednesday for free, facilitated by the city administration and business enterprises.
Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat supported the event, saying that such activities should be conducted once to twice a month to give street and orphanage children the chance to enjoy their childhood.
“I am sure there are some of you who have not yet visited Ancol, so please enjoy the games and have fun,” Djarot said during the opening of National Children's Day at Dufan.
Separately, Jakarta Social Agency head Masrokhan said the activity was conducted to fulfill one of the basic rights of children, which was the right to recreation. (syl)
