he Bekasi Police have arrested a man, J, for attempting to distribute crystal methamphetamine disguised as candy to several areas in the West Java city.

The police said on Thursday they seized a package of crystal meth concealed in candy wrappers from the back pocket of J's pants.

"We also raided his house and found ten packages of sabu-sabu concealed in candy wrappers," Bekasi Police Deputy Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Wijanarko said as quoted by kompas.com, referring to the illicit drug by its local street name.

Wijanarko said each "candy" was filled with 0.5 gram to 1 gram of crystal meth.

He added that the police had not targeted J as a drug dealer, but caught him acting in a suspicious manner while they were investigating an assault case in Bantar Gebang.

After seizing the drug evidence from J, the police arrested him and transported him to the police office for questioning, Wijanarko said. (cal)
