T

he Jakarta Health Agency issued a sanction against the Mitra Keluarga Hospital in Kalideres, West Jakarta, for a suspected negligence which resulted in the death of a baby earlier this month.

In a press conference held on Monday, the agency ordered the removal of all administrators of the hospital, up to its highest level.

"The sanction for owner of the Mitra Keluarga hospital in Kalideres, PT Ragam Sehat Multifita, is for it to restructure its management, in this case, its leadership, within one month after this decision is made," head of Jakarta Health Agency Koesmedi Priharto said as quoted by kompas, com.

The agency also ordered Mitra Keluarga to join a new accreditation process within the next six months and that it also has to renew the process once every two years.

Koesmedi said that if Mitra Keluarga failed to comply with the order, the agency would take a drastic measure of shutting down its operation.

Four-month-old Tiara Deborah Simanjorang died at the hospital on Sept. 3 after the hospital refused to provide treatment in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), because her parents failed to conduct the required advance payment.
