s of Tuesday morning, 94 flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Banten, to Bali had been cancelled following the eruption of Mount Agung, an official has said.
Soekarno-Hatta communications manager Dewandono Prasetyo said the flights were those of Garuda Indonesia and Batik Air, as well as Lion Air, Citilink, Sriwijaya Air and AirAsia.
Meanwhile, at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, 99 flights to Soekarno-Hatta had been cancelled, Dewandono added.
"Nonetheless, we find that many tourists, particularly foreign ones, have rerouted their trips. Maybe they were well informed," Dewandono said on Tuesday.
He further said the cancelled flights were following the Transportation Ministry's decision to close Ngurah Rai International Airport from Saturday afternoon until Nov. 29 due to the eruption.
