Jakarta legal bureau official came to the city’s police headquarters on Monday for questioning related to the controversial closure of Jl. Jatibaru Raya in the Tanah Abang area of Central Jakarta.

“The official from the bureau is Okie Wibowo,” said bureau head Yayan Yuhana, as quoted by kompas.com. Okie is a staff member of the bureau’s department for the implementation of legislative regulations.

The questioning had been ordered after Jack Boyd Lapian, the secretary-general of pressure group Cyber Indonesia, had reported Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to the police because of the road closure, which the group said violated the law.

The police will also call an expert witness from the Transportation Ministry’s Land Transportation Directorate General.

On Friday, Jakarta Transportation Agency deputy head Sigit Wijatmoko and the agency’s traffic management unit head, Ferdinand Ginting, had been questioned. (wnd)
