he Jakarta administration is mulling over relocating the Lapangan Tembak Senayan shooting range in Central Jakarta following incidents where stray bullets were found in lawmakers’ offices at the House of Representatives complex located nearby.
“It is a big possibility that [the shooting range] will be relocated eventually,” Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said on Thursday.
Anies said he would discuss relocating the range with various institutions like the State Secretary, Sports and Youth Ministry and Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association.
He expressed hope that a final decision on the plan would be made soon as the close distance between the shooting range and the House complex was risky.
On Thursday, Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said another bullet was found in the office of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) lawmaker Effendi Simbolon, located on the sixth floor of the House complex, at around 8:30 a.m.
Previously, two bullets were found on the 13th and 16th floor of the House building on Monday and another two on the 10th and 9th floors on Wednesday.
The police have arrested two men, identified only as IAW and RMY. (gis)
