Crismonita Dwi Putri will be the only Indonesian competing in the 2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Pruszkow, Poland, which runs from Wednesday to Sunday.

Crismonita will race in the women’s 500-meter time trial at the BGZ Arena on Saturday.

Indonesian head coach Dadang Haris Purnomo said he expected Crismonita to do well to collect Olympic points. World body the UCI has set three ways to earn points for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which are based on individual, number of event and country.

“Crismonita will also be able to gain racing experience here,” Dadang said in a statement.

“My target for [Crismonita] isn’t too ambitious: finishing in the top 10 will be great for her,” he added.

Crismonita earned her ticket to the worlds after bagging a bronze in the Women’s Elite 500 m Time Trial at the 2019 Asian Track Championships in Jakarta in January.

She also put on an impressive performance against the world’s best riders at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup Series in Hong Kong from Jan. 25 to 27. At that time, she made it to the Women’s 200 m Sprint quarterfinals and recorded a better time than junior world champion Lea Sophie Friedrick of Germany.
