20 Myanmar soldiers killed in raid on police station: local media

The Irrawaddy newspaper reported that the attack on the police station in Moebye was carried out by the People's Defense Forces supported by local militia.

wenty Myanmar soldiers and policemen were killed on Sunday morning when anti-coup forces stormed a police station in southern Shan State, independent local media reported.

The Irrawaddy newspaper reported that the attack on the police station in Moebye was carried out by the People's Defense Forces supported by local militia.

Radio Free Asia reported that 10 soldiers and four policemen were killed, including the deputy police chief of Moebye police station.

There was no independent confirmation.

At least 815 people have been killed by Myanmar's security forces since the Feb. 1 military coup, with over 4,000 others in detention, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, a rights group tracking deaths and detainees in the Southeast Asian country.
