ast Japan Railway Co. said Tuesday it will open a multifaith prayer room at Tokyo Station amid an increasing number of foreign travelers from Muslim countries.
The prayer space, to open on June 5, will be the first within a train station in Japan, the company also known as JR East said.

In western Japan, West Japan Railway Co. and Nankai Electric Railway Corp. provide prayer spaces near their train stations.
