round the corner of Bangkok’s shopping center, visitors can expect to find Anggun C. Sasmi’s doppelgänger statue inside Madame Tussauds.

The Jakarta-born singer posed, and then waited for six months to reveal the wax figure to the world. “Her hair is thicker than mine,” she jokingly said on Thursday as she appeared to fondly brush her double’s hair.

She said it was a real honor to be chosen as the first Indonesian female singer to be immortalized as a statue in the wax museum. "I never dreamed I would have my own wax figure at Madame Tussauds, and that’s a really big deal, so I really am very happy,” she told kompas.com at Madam Tussauds Bangkok in Siam Discovery, Bangkok.

Anggun revealed that officials from London's Madame Tussauds contacted her last November, which she originally thought to be an invitation to sing. She was later bewildered by the fact she had actually been invited to become a wax figure as per demand by the public, as she was the most requested musical icon to be put on display.

She went under a series of processes upon making her statue, as people measured her carefully, even parts that “she didn’t think should be measured,” she said giggling. After getting her measurements, even her nostrils, she was photographed more than 350 times to generate a three-dimensional image to craft her figure on wax. She sat down for three to four hours as they took photographs from every angle to record every detail of her figure.

Anggun said it was lucky that she was sitting down, because if she were to stand up or do other things it would’ve made her body really sore. “Twinning,” she exclaimed as she sat next to her wax figure, a mirror image of the international singer, with an Asia’s Got Talent judge table placed by the corner dedicated to her.
