Currently ongoing until Nov. 7, the 7th annual Indonesian Contemporary Art and Design (ICAD) adopted "Seven Scenes" as this year’s theme.
Among the artists participating are Agung Kurniawan (art), Budi Pradono (architecture), Eko Nugroho (art), Hermawan Tanzil (graphic design), Oscar Lawalata (textile design), Tita Salina (urban play) and Tromarama (videography). They reportedly worked together with other young artists and designers in representing and reflecting change in the city, especially in Kemang, which is said to influence society’s lifestyle and social relations.

“The project’s name itself is ‘Kemang RT/RW’ [neighborhood unit/community unit],” said graphic design artist Hermawan Tanzil in ICAD's official video. “Because I’m a resident of Kemang, I really want to create a documentation [with] information [and] historical records about the area from the past until present.” He added that the project required him and his team to interview many people to find pieces of information related to each other.
The event also brings contemporary fashion installations that involves four artists and designers, an artists’ merchandise zone, the Special Appearance exhibition and five conventions featuring local and foreign speakers. (kes)
