SMS: Tax Money

People should have to pay taxes so that the government is able to develop public facilities like streets, canals, schools etc. But if there are people who want to develop those facilities, the government must not collect taxes from them.

JOKO SUKISNO

Bogor, West Java

The government should have spent taxpayer money to develop public facilities. But the fact is that most public facilities are in poor condition.

It is the task of the government to take care of the existing public facilities and to develop more.

I would say it's terrible to know our money is spent for others' pleasure. There are a number of priorities to be addressed, including starvation, poverty, and poor condition of schools.

ARINI

Bandung

I totally disagree with the government program to intensify the collection of personal income tax because it will burden people too much. Meanwhile, the taxes are spent inefficiently.

WULAN RAHAYU

If taxpayer money is spent properly for the development of the nation, Indonesia would not be in its current third world status.

Every citizen knows the money disappears into the pockets of corrupt officials. And what do taxpayers get?

AGUS

Has the money been spent properly such as for public utilities and infrastructure, subsidies for communities' basic needs (water, education, energy, farming, food etc) and paying off foreign debt?

We are in the dark about it. Therefore, the government must announce transparently how it spends taxpayer money.
