Dewi promotes RI culture abroad

LONDON: Renowned ballad singer Dewi Yull, known for her hits "Jangan Ada Dusta Antara Kita" (Shall There Be No Lies Between Us) and "Kau Bukan Dirimu" (You're not You Anymore), performed at the Indonesian Cultural Night recently held at Museon Den Haag, the Netherlands.

An official at the Indonesian embassy in Den Haag, Firdaus Dahlan, was quoted by Antara as saying that the event was part of an effort to promote Indonesian culture in the Netherlands to attract more Dutch tourists to Indonesia this year.

A number of traditional dance performances, including the Bedhyo Belajowo, Bambangan Cakil, Lilin, Rebana, Petjut, Tempurung and Cendrawasih dances, as well as a batik fashion show, were showcased as part of the event.

Slank, the Indonesian popular rock band known for its anti-corruption songs, also performed at the event. -- JP
