AKARTA: The West Jakarta municipality confirmed reports that some of its water filling depots were contaminated by Escherichia Coli (E-coli) bacteria after a laboratory checked samples of 85 depots and found 23 contaminated.
The laboratory's result also declared water at eight other depots not potable due to hazardous substances in it.
West Jakarta health office head Yeniuarti Suaizi said that there are 512 depots in the municipality.
"This is just the first test. We will get another laboratory to conduct a second test," she was quoted as saying by beritajakarta.com.
