AKARTA: David Hartanto Widjaja, an Indonesian student who died at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU), was murdered and did not commit suicide as many Singaporean media outlets have reportered, Otto Cornelis Kaligis, the lawyer for David's family, said Thurday.
"We have been compiling evidence that proves David was definitely murdered. The evidence also contradicts all the testimonies and evidence presented by the witnesses for NTU," Kaligis told The Jakarta Post.
Kaligis said the evidence consisted of statements from forensic experts who studied photographs of David's body, testimonies from David's fellow students and other files found in his computer.
"We will present this evidence at the next trial at the Singapore coroner's court on June 15," Kaligis said.
According to Djaja Surya Atmadja, a forensic expert from the University of Indonesia, dozens of photographs of David's body taken on March 2 prove that he was attacked with a knife.
