AKARTA: South Jakarta Police say they have arrested three people and are still looking for one other, believed to be members of a car theft ring.

Police announced Friday the operation had been uncovered following the arrest of Jailani, believed to be the mastermind of the syndicate.

Police have recovered 22 cars from the suspects.

"Jailani was arrested in Kebayoran Baru *in South Jakarta*," said South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Gatot Eddy Pramono as quoted by detik.com.

A tip-off from the suspect led to the arrests of two others, Ismail and Trisno, in Cirebon, West Java.

"They sold the stolen cars in Bandung, Subang, Indramayu and Cirebon," Gatot said.
