AKARTA: East Jakarta Police have arrested 10 alleged members of a drug syndicate in the densely populated Condet area, an officer revealed on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Comr. Didik Heriyadi said officers arrested two men, identified as A and H, who were allegedly dealing drugs in Jl. Raya Condet, Kramat Jati. Police allegedly seized 0.55 grams of crystal methamphetamine from them. The arrests of U in Jl. Munggang, M and AR in Jl. Inpres, and BS in Jl. Al Mujahidin followed. Four grams of crystal meth was allegedly seized from them.
Police had earlier arrested KA, AG, Z and D for allegedly dealing crystal meth and marijuana in the area.
“Some of them were in the job for two months. Others had been in the business for over a year. But they are only pushers, we are still looking for their supplier,” Didik said, as quoted by tempo.co.
Police charged the men with the 2009 Law on Narcotics, which carries a minimum five years’ imprisonment.
