AKARTA: Newcomer Norman Kamaru is planning to move in a different direction with his musical career.

The former police officer said he would rap on his latest single “Lupa-kan” (Forget It) and would collaborate with rapper Saykoji.

“It will be different than my previous [music]. This time there will be more rap,” Norman said on Wednesday as quoted by detikhot.com.

The 26-year-old said he had to make several adjustments in order to create a new, more modern image.

Norman catapulted to fame after a video showing him lip-syncing and dancing to a Bollywood hit in his police uniform went viral on YouTube last year.

He then resigned from his job after receiving recording offers.
