uthorities at Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam, Riau Islands, said flights for several routes served by Lion Air were still running as usual despite the incident in Bali. There were no delays or cancellations related to the incident.
Head of General Affairs Department at Hang Nadim airport, Suwarso, told The Jakarta Post on Saturday that Lion Air's incident in Bali had not disrupted the Batam-Bali flight schedules served by the carrier.
'Alhamdulillah [Thank God], the airline's flights from Hang Nadim are running as usual. There haven't been any delays or cancellations, including for the Batam-Bali and Batam-Surabaya routes served by Lion Air,' said Suwarso.
He said Lion Air served 50 percent of the 110 flights from Batam, including the Batam-Bali and Batam-Surabaya routes, as well as other routes that connected Batam to Java, Kalimantan and Sumatra.
'There have been no Lion Air flights in Batam cancelled due to the incident,' said Suwarso.
Lion Air is scheduled to operate its 6 square-hectares maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for its aircraft at Hang Nadim airport in June. (nai/ebf)
