alls are mounting for the media to stop exposing the identity of DM, an 18-year-old senior high school student rumored to be the wife of former Prosperous Justice Party chairman Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq.

Child psychologist Ratih Ibrahim said such exposure could scar a teenager like DM for life.

'€œMost likely she would be ashamed, stressed and become paranoid, unless she had a heart of stone,'€ she told The Jakarta Post. '€œThere has to be a scar [left on her from the media exposure].'€

The psychologist lambasted DM'€™s parents for allowing their daughter to get entangled in the scandal.

DM, a student from a state-vocational school in East Jakarta, was summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to disclose her knowledge of the flow of money in the beef import case in which Luthfi has been named a suspect.

However, she never answered the summons. The media then started digging into the identity of DM, going as far as publishing her photo and full identity.

The chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection consultative council, Seto Mulyadi, said DM'€™s psychological state could be affected by the KPK'€™s summons.

'€œBased on the Child Protection Law, a child facing the law has to be dealt with differently than an adult and there has to be a mediator,'€ he said during his visit to KPK headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday. '€œNot all children are well equipped to deal with law.'€

It was better for the KPK to question DM at her house, according to Seto. '€œThe KPK could also ask for help from the Indonesian Commission on Child Protection [KPAI],'€ he said.

A mediator was needed to soften the psychological blow by ensuring that the questioning session did not scare DM, Seto added.

KPK spokesperson Johan Budi said the antigraft body had no plan to summon DM, whose whereabouts were unknown following the media exposure, for a third time.

DM is one of the many females implicated in the beef graft scandal.

Recently, media reports said an alleged Financial Transaction Reports Analysis Centre (PPATK) document showed that Luthfi'€™s aide, Ahmad Fathanah, had channeled funds to dozens of women.

The document shows that Fathanah, the key suspect in the beef import scandal, had transferred up to billions of rupiah to the women since 2005.

While the list included some names who had been questioned by the KPK as witnesses in the case, such as Fathanah'€™s third wife, Sefty Sanustika, and dangdut singer Tri Kurnia, names such as actress Ayu Azhari and adult magazine model Vitalia Shesya, were missing from the list.

Ayu had turned over Rp 20 million (US$2046.88) and $1,800 that she received from Fathanah to the KPK after she was questioned by the commission, while Vitalia had admitted to receiving a diamond ring worth Rp 90 million as well as a Honda Jazz car from Fathanah, both of which had been turned over to the KPK.

Johan said the KPK refused to confirm the document. '€œFirst, we did not leak the document. Second, the leaked document is not necessarily the same as the list from the PPATK,'€ he said. The PPATK, which had submitted its report on Fathanah'€™s dubious transactions to the KPK, also denied allegations that it had leaked the document.
