Honda set to boost cub motor market share

The Supra X 125 FI is the newest model in the line that Honda sells to the higher end of the cub motor segment, said AHM president director Toshiyuki Inuma. He claimed the motorcycle, with a 125 cc engine, had fuel consumption of 61.8 kilometers per liter.
'We believe that our market share will increase this year and we will be the champion in Indonesia's motor market,' said Inuma.
Cub motors, those with a 50 to 125 cc engine and a top speed of 120 km per hour, account for the largest segment of the rapidly expanding motorcycle market in Indonesia.
Thomas Wijaya, the deputy general manager for sales, told reporters that this year's general election activities would bolster the sales of Honda motorcycles. Honda's sales of cub motorcycles would grow to 5 million units this year from 4.7 million in 2013, Thomas said.
