ealth Minister Nila Moeloek has said that the two Indonesian migrant workers currently hospitalized in general hospitals in Kediri and Madiun have not contracted the Ebola virus.

'€œResults from administered blood tests have shown that they aren'€™t infected with Ebola. It is more likely that they have malaria,'€ Nina said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

Nina, however, has warned authorities to remain alert because Ebola patients share similar symptoms with Ebola patients, including high fever, nausea and diarrhea.

Two Indonesians who recently returned from working abroad in Ebola endemic areas were hospitalized over suspicion of having been infected with Ebola.

This was the second time Indonesian health authorities have applied the screening protocol. Approximately a month ago, two Indonesians and a foreigner were also quarantined over the same suspicion. They were released after blood test results showed that they were Ebola-negative.

More than 4,000 people have died from Ebola in Africa alone. (dic)(++++)
