he Palu Immigration Office in Central Sulawesi has deported five Chinese nationals for violating immigration regulations, according to local immigration office spokesman Amar B.
"We deported them to their country of origin on Saturday," Amar said in Palu on Monday, as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that the deported Chinese nationals were identified as Yan Shiyuan, Yan Yong Sheng, Weng Kaiyue, Pan Erxing, and Xue Yong Yun.
According to him, the five were sponsored by a company that recruited foreign labor with legal immigration documents such as passports and visas to work in Jakarta and Sukabumi.
"But, in reality, they all worked in Palu, Central Sulawesi, instead of Jakarta and Sukabumi, and that violates immigration law," Amar said.
He revealed that Palu immigration officials arrested them at a mining area in Watusampu village, some 8 kilometers from Palu.
"Before being deported, they were detained for two weeks in the Palu immigration detention room," Amar said. (hhr)
