ell-known taxi operator Blue Bird Group said on Wednesday that two drivers held as suspects in recent robberies had good track records and had received no complaints from customers.
Blue Bird Group spokesman Teguh Wijayanto said that the company rarely received complaints about 41-year-old Sutrisno from customers.
'He joined [the company] in 2010 but then he resigned before joining us again in September last year. In total, he worked for us for a year and three months,' he said.
Teguh said Agus Supriyanto, who was also held as a suspect in the same case, had caused no trouble for the company and its customers.
'Despite the good track records, the two drivers have been automatically fired,' he said, adding that their alleged wrongdoings did not represent the company.
The police arrested three men, including Sutrisno and Agus, for allegedly robbing in South Jakarta three women at knifepoint and gunpoint in a white taxi stolen from the Express Group.
All the victims revealed that they were threatened by a man, suspected to be 31-year-old Edwar Syah Jaya, who hid in the taxi's trunk before appearing out of the back seat. (***)
