Officers from a police force in Papua have been arrested for stealing guns belonging to officers of the Indonesian Air Force.

'€œThe suspects, including the main suspect, are now being detained at the Papua Police detention center,'€ Papua police spokesman Sr. Comr. Pudjo Sulistyo said on Tuesday.

Besides stealing the guns, Pudjo said the suspects also grabbed mobile phones and a total of Rp 15 million (US$1,200) in cash from the officers'€™ three bags, which were put on a stone while the owners were taking pictures when they visited the Gunung Cycloop tourist resort in Jayapura on Nov. 15.

He said the police arrested the suspects on Tuesday after monitoring signals of the officers'€™ cell phones, which were used by the suspects. (***)
