uroto and Elisabeth, the parents of Ade Sara Angelina Suroto, who was murdered by her former boyfriend and his girlfriend, spent their first Christmas without their only child.

'€œLast Christmas she asked me what we would eat for dinner right before we went to the church for the Christmas service at 6 p.m.,'€ Suroto said recently, adding that he bought his daughter rice and fried chicken for dinner after church.

'€œAll the merry days have turned into sad days in the blink of an eye. This is the most devastating Christmas for us,'€ he said.

In March, Ade Sara was killed by Ahmad Imam Al Hafitd and Assyifa Ramadhani, who were sentenced to 20 years in prison for premeditated murder, less than the life sentence sought by prosecutors.

The prosecutors have filed an appeal against the ruling.
