ity Council speaker Prasetyo Edi Marsudi said the city council will form a special team to investigate a land dispute between city-owned lender Bank DKI and the property developer, Lippo Group, over a plot of land on Jl. MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta.

According to Prasetyo, the land had been legally owned by Bank DKI for decades, but was now suddenly under the ownership of the Lippo Group.

'€œI suspect that individuals from the BPKD [Jakarta Financial Management Board] must have been involved,'€ Prasetyo told reporters at the city council building in Central Jakarta on Monday.

The irregularities came to light after Bank DKI planned to build their offices on the land but their efforts were hampered after the bank management discovered that they no longer owned the land.
