A

teenager,17, crashed his black Mitsubishi Pajero SUV into the official residence of Indonesian Military (TNI) chief Gen. Moeldoko, damaging the house'€™s gate on Saturday night.

'€œThe car turned onto Jl. Diponegoro [Central Jakarta] at high speed, swerved then crashed into the official house of the TNI chief,'€ Central Jakarta Traffic Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Sakat said on Sunday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

No fatalities were reported in the incident but the car sustained significant damage.

Sakat said the parents of the driver had apologized to the general.

'€œThey have made arrangements to repair the gate,'€ Sakat went on.

Sakat said the teenager was sober at the time of the accident, which occurred at 10:45 p.m., and possessed a valid driver'€™s license. '€œHe was heading home,'€ he said.

The case had been settled through mediation between the driver'€™s family and that of Moeldoko'€™s, Sakat said. (***)
