our suspected terrorists who were captured by a joint security team from the Central Sulawesi Police and the National Police'€™s Densus 88 counterterrorism unit in a raid in Poso regency, Central Sulawesi, on the weekend are still undergoing intensive investigation. The terror suspects, identified only by their initials S, A,H and R, have reportedly been transferred to Palu.

'€œThey will be interrogated in Palu but we do not yet have any information on when the questioning will take place,'€ Central Sulawesi Police spokesperson Adj. Sr. Comr. Hari Suprapto said as quoted by Antara news agency on Sunday.

He said the security operation to catch the armed civilian group in Central Sulawesi was done under the coordination of the Densus 88 anti-terrorism squad and it communicated directly with the National Police headquarters in Jakarta, not with the Central Sulawesi Police.

"Further findings from the arrest will be conveyed directly by the National Police'€™s information and communications division,'€ said Hari.

Suspected terrorists arrested in Poso regency or other areas in Central Sulawesi had usually been interrogated at the Central Sulawesi Police headquarters in Palu. In some cases, however, suspected terrorists from Poso were interrogated at the National Police headquarters in Jakarta. These included four foreigners who were arrested on their way to Poso several months ago.

The Densus 88 squad arrested S, aka I, who was living in Kayamanya, Lorong Mesjid Nurul Falah, Wotu village, Poso regency, in a raid on Jl. Pulau Sabang, Poso, at 11:30 a.m. local time on Friday.

The police suspected S was a courier for the East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) movement. He was also suspected to have helped hide two terrorism suspects who were on the police'€™s most wanted list (DPO): Daeng Koro and Santoso. S was also allegedly the receiver of money sent from outside Central Sulawesi and had helped handle the financial matters of the MIT group.

Meanwhile, R, aka A, who lives on Jl. Pulau Sabang, Poso, was reported to have attended military training in Morowali regency in 2007. He had also helped with making purchases for the MIT group and with the running of Daeng Koro and Santoso.

The two other terrorist suspects are H and his wife, R. '€œThey were arrested in front of state junior high school SMP 4 Poso at 2:15 p.m. local time on Saturday,'€ said National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Ronni F. Sompi in Jakarta. (ebf)
