he Voice of America (VOA) Indonesia news office in Plaza Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, received a bomb threat through its Facebook account on Saturday.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said the threat was posted at 3 a.m. by an anonymous account. He said the Jakarta Police deployed its Mobile Brigade officers and bomb squad to the location immediately after the news office reported it.
'The bomb squad has swept the area and found no explosive material in the office that is located on the 12th floor or in the nearby area,' Martinus told reporters on Saturday.
He said further that during the search the building was almost empty as only a few people came to the office on the weekend.
However, he said that the police had deployed officers to guard the location in order to prevent any incidents. (***)
