AKARTA: Indonesian shuttlers passed their first hurdles at the Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Masters 2015, scheduled to run Jan. 13-18 in Kuching, Malaysia, on Wednesday.

Women'€™s singles player Hanna Ramadini kicked off Indonesia'€™s winning streak by defeating Malaysia'€™s Li Lian Yang 21-15, 21-14 in 36 minutes.

Millicent Wiranto, who trains in Malaysia, labored to beat compatriot Ruselli Hartawan 14-21, 26-24, 21-19.

Unfortunately, veteran player Maria Febe Kusumastuti had to pack up early after Lee Jang-mi of South Korea crushed her 19-21, 11-21.

In the men'€™s doubles, Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira/Ade Yusuf also passed through to the next round in a hard-fought match against Malaysian pair Khek Wei Chua/Nelson Wei Keat, which ended 21-12, 19-21, 26-24.

'€œWe didn'€™t face difficulties in the first game, but in the second game they distracted us by changing their game patterns. We did not expect the change,'€ Ade said in a statement.

Wahyu/Ade will face the winner between Chan Jun Bong/Kim Duck Young of South Korea and Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong of Malaysia.
