T

he Central Java Police dishonorably discharged a total of 18 police members in 2014, says Central Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Nur Ali in Semarang.

Six of them were officially dismissed during a ceremony at police headquarters on Monday.

'€œThey were dishonorably dismissed for their involvement in drug syndicates, desertion and other crimes. Some of them were fired for leaving their duties for 30 days in a row,'€ Nur told The Jakarta Post.

The six police members discharged on Monday were actually dismissed in 2014, but given the Christmas and New Year'€™s Eve security demands, they were dismissed on Monday.

'€œThey have gone through the legal process. They were not present during the hearing, and some were even absent from the ceremony,'€ said Nur. (***)
