village chief of Kalimago, Poso regency, Central Sulawesi, who had been reported missing since Jan. 3, 2015, was found in a good state on Thursday afternoon.

Central Sulawesi Police chief spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Hari Suprapto said village chief Andi Baide had been found in the forest by a team of 25 people from the North Lore Police and Central Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade, Antara reported.

Andi later received treatment for exhaustion from the nearest community health clinic.

The 67-year-old man said that the forest had been generally safe and that he had not meet any terrorist groups. The region is home to a number of terror groups.

On Jan. 3 at 8 a.m. Andi went to the jungle to look for firewood. In the afternoon, he did not return home, which was about five kilometers away.
