n this week'€™s games of the Apple Coal JCA League 2014-2015, Fez Rebels consolidated their number-one spot and TKCC regained number-two spot in the Division II by posting victories, while Indorama forfeited its game to WISCI in Division I.

Fourteen-year-old Alastair was the star in Rebels'€™ three-wicket victory over Jaguars. He took the three wickets and scored 20 runs in a low-scoring encounter. Earlier, electing to field first, Rebels bowled out Jaguars for a paltry 113 runs in 30 overs. Kirk took three wickets while Barber took two. Jaguars made a spirited fight back led by Sasi'€™s six wickets, but Knox (31) and Suresh (22) ensured Rebels'€™ victory in the 22nd over.

TKCC won a close game against Mavecrics, beating them by 18 runs. In a rain-curtailed game of 30 overs, TKCC posted 215 runs. Hitesh top-scored with 89 runs and Jimmy Bumb made 57 runs. Keyura, Miraz and Chetan picked up two wickets each. Mavecrics were all out for 197 runs, with Vishav and Miraz scoring 30 runs each. Vishal claimed five wickets.

Indorama forfeited its Saturday game to favorites WISCI. Though a forfeiture results in losing 12 points (the same as a game that is played and lost), it does not have a negative impact on the net run rate (NRR). In Division I, where the NRR is likely to play an important role in the rankings, this may well turn be a decisive factor. JCA guidelines penalize a team that forfeits by six penalty points, but provide for an exception for games forfeited on a Saturday as a result of non-availability of players.

Jakarta Barbarians, WISCI and WPP-India XI lead Division I, while Fez Rebels, TKCC and Metro Indians lead Division II. (***)
