When he was still Jakarta governor, President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo promised he would visit City Hall often.

But it never crossed my mind that it would be this often. Of course, the State Palace where he now lives is just five minutes away, but at times like this, while he is the President of our country, he certainly has a packed schedule and many urgent matters that need his immediate attention. Impromptu visits do not seem like they would be one of his priorities.

Your comments:

Don'€™t compare his current job with the one he had when he was governor.

As the President, Jokowi is now very busy, but still he is very smart in utilizing his limited time. It was written in social media that the visit to several ASEAN countries would follow the long-running tradition where a new leader in this region introduces himself to the leaders of other ASEAN countries.

Later, the media revealed that his visit to Malaysia was not only for introducing himself to the leader in that country, but was for very important business.

The border dispute between Indonesia and Malaysia is still ongoing and has never been resolved. He and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak have agreed to appoint special envoys in a bid to speed up efforts to resolve the prolonged issues.

So, don'€™t demand that he fulfill his promises immediately. Resolving the border issue is also important for the country.
