he disaster and victim identification (DVI) team of the East Java Police on Friday identified the bodies of eight more passengers of AirAsia flight QZ8501, which crashed into the Java Sea on Dec. 26 last year.

With the identification of eight more bodies, the DVI team'€™s identification count has reached 89.

The eight bodies have been identified as those of Michael Clemency Ardhi, Reggy Ardhi, Juliana HO, Kenneth Matthew Gunawan, Kayla Audrey Gunawan, Fransisca Lanny Winata Liem, all from Surabaya, and Vincencia
Sri Andrijany from Probolinggo, East Java, and Rony Handoyo, from Malang, East Java.

The bodies were identified by matching primary data such as the DNA of their mothers and the DNA profiles of the victims'€™ personal belongings.

'€œMichael Clemency Ardhi was identified with the help of the DNA obtained from his umbilical cord that is still stored in the hospital where he was born,'€ Yusuf said.
