T

wo security guards at Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta say a police officer assaulted them on Thursday evening after they had an argument about a wheelchair.

The hospital'€™s security head, Suharto, said on Friday that two of his subordinates, Yudi Setiabudi and Abdullah, were undergoing medical treatment after being assaulted by Jakarta Police headquarters management unit First Brig. Rizky Maulana Ishaq.

Suharto said the police officer and his family were at the hospital to pay their respects to a deceased family member. The officer wanted a wheelchair to assist his mother but when Yudi asked Rizky to leave his identity card he refused and punched Yudi in the face.

'€œThe police officer said, '€˜You think I'€™m a thief?'€™ He then strangled Yudi and punched him in his mouth. Leaving an ID card is the hospital'€™s procedure. It applies to everyone, without exception,'€ Suharto said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Abdullah tried to help Yudi but was also attacked, Suharto went on, adding that his employee had been pistol-whipped, suffering wounds to his head and cheek.

Cilandak police chief Comr. Sungkono confirmed the report, saying the National Police Internal Affairs Division were handling the case.
