Love is in the air at the house of model and actress Davina Veronica Hariadi. The love she shares only with her five dogs '€” all strays, a shih tzu among them.

Davina said she got the strays from her friends, who saved them from the road. '€œOne of them seemed really in pain '€” its legs were tied up. [The dog] was afraid of people [when I got it],'€ recalled Davina as quoted by kompas.com.

What started as a rainy-night obligation turned into a nostalgic reminder that the songs of our childhood never really leave us.

As for the the shih tzu, Davina got it from a scavenger, who lived under Kampung Melayu overpass in East Jakarta. '€œ[The shih tzu] didn'€™t have any fur left '€” just bones wrapped in skin,'€ said the 36-year-old, who founded Garda Satwa, an organization focused on animal welfare.

Davina, who starred in Lovely Luna in 2004 and Ruma Maida (Maida'€™s House) in 2009, said she gives all the love she has to those dogs.

'€œ[I say to them], '€˜No matter how ugly you are, I'€™ll always take care of you'€™,'€ she said, adding that she treated her dogs like her own children.
